I have this song posted over on "rest" today. The words resonate deep within my soul. I wrestle with fear of the "thorns and dangers just around the bend". The battle rages within and I can't help myself. Acknowledging that fact used to make me feel ashamed. Now it brings such sweet freedom! I can't help myself. I need a Savior, and He is willing and able!
For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust. - Psalm 103:14
Without God's help, I am lost. Without His love and mercy, there is no hope for me. Our enemy wants us to believe God is not there to help; that He is not mighty to save. Or maybe he whispers that God's love and mercy is available to others, but not to you. What lies are you believing today? This is what is true: you can't help yourself, and you don't have to. Surrender to the One who loves you more than you dare to hope, and His perfect love will cast out your fear.
